Gstat

Below is the detail information:

DEVELOPED 1996-2011
AUTHOR Edzer Pebesma

Inst. for geoinformatics
University of Muenster
Weseler Str 253
48151 Muenster, DE

PLATFORM Windows & UNIX. Platforms running R
PURPOSE Program, and R package, for uni- or multivariable geostatistical modelling, prediction and simulation.
FUNCTIONS + variogram, cross variogram, covariogram or cross covariogram calculation;
+ modeling of nested models, interactively or non-interactively
+ pooled (within-class) variogram estimation
+ variogram maps

+ ordinary kriging, simple kriging, multivariable universal kriging with arbitrary base functions
+ kriging with external drift
+ reading observations, prediction locations, and base function values for universal kriging or category numbers for stratified kriging
+ stratified universal kriging
+ conditional and unconditional Gaussian simulation
+ Indicator simulation for simple, categorical or cumulative indicators
+ block predictions for rectangular blocks or arbitrarily shaped blocks
+ Gaussian simulation of block averages conditioned on point observations

+ concise, intuitive command language that allows batch processing and eases documentation
+ Map formats supported are PCRaster, Idrisi, Arc-Info/ArcView+SpatialAnalyst (gridascii and gridfloat), Grass, ER-Mapper, GMT, and SURFER .
+ writing maps with predictions, simulated values, error variances and error covariances
+ optionally ascii input and output (independence from GIS formats)
CODES C codes are available from https://svn.52north.org/svn/geostatistics/, R version available from CRAN
windows binary for gstat stand-alone with support for csf gd (png) (gif) grass gdal gsl pdcurses and netcdf: see link below
TIP Graphical user interface for Gstat have been developed: one within the PCRaster project, the other one for IDRISI.
The authors of GRASS also adopted Gstat as their geostatistical add-on module.

Gstat has two mailing lists: one for announcements, and one for questions and discussions.
