PURPOSE | Distance is a Windows-based computer package that allows you to design and analyze distance sampling surveys of wildlife populations |
FUNCTIONS | Analysis of distance sampling methods for estimating density and abundance of biological populations. It covers both line transect and point transect (variable circular plot) methods as well as methods such as cue counts and trapping webs. Built-in GIS reading shapefiles probability of coverage for a random point design examination of properties of user-specified designs (e.g., random points, grid of points, line segments, zig-zag lines, etc) |
