Call for Participation: Triturus WorldViz
In April 2015, we will start the development of a new Java module that allows the generation of 3-D World visualizations. You're very welcome to participate (by contributing source code on GitHub, developing demo apps, or just bringing in innovative ideas!).
The new module (working title: WorldViz) will be based on the existing Triturus module (https://github.com/52North/triturus
). It will deal with thematic globe/world visualizations (e.g., glyph maps, displacement mapping to produce potato-like globes, alternative map projections, Buckminster-Fuller-like geodesic domes, etc.). The WorldViz library will be used to set-up the "Erlebnisraum" ENE (http://www.hs-bochum.de/ene
) at Bochum University of Applied Sciences, which is open to anyone who is interested, too.
Note that in March 2015 the 3D community's repositories will be migrated from Subversion to GitHub.

This library of Java classes offers basic functionality to model objects in 3-D space and to set-up simple 3-D scene descriptions. More information about Triturus can be found here
The 52N terrainServer provides Web-based service implementations to query terrain information as well as 3-D scenes.

The 52N terrainViewer serves as Web-based front-end to view images provided by the 52N terrainServer's Web Terrain Service.
