OpenSensorSearch Spatial Search

Internally, OpenSensorSearch stores bounding boxes for sensors. For the (potentially more common) use case of sensor locations, the bounding box "degenerates" to a simple location by having the same values for lower and upper coordinates. However, since the different search bindings use different inputs, this page shall document the behaviour for spatial search.

Searching with OpenSearch binding

  • Input to search: location and radius
  • ALERT! Implementation of search: ...

Searching with SIR binding

  • Input to search: bounding box
  • Implementation of search: ALERT! CHECK THIS IN THE CODE ALERT! the database is queried for all bounding boxes that touch the query bounding box.
