Idea

The main idea is to offer a web GIS displaying current GEONETCast satellite imagery as a WMS. An important function is the possibility to add external WMSs. Our group will also generate and set up the GEONETCast-WMS. As a showcase the visual comparison of current waterbody dimensions (from GEONETCast data) with regular waterbodies (from external WMS) shall be possible.

Input

For the GEONETCast-WMS our group will need appropriate (i. e., "good" resolution satellite imagery) data in geotiff format.

Output

There are two outputs:
  1. GEONETCast-WMS showing satellite imagery; several formats, e. g. png, tiff, jpeg, gif
  2. web GIS based on Mapbender

The GEONETCast-WMS can be accessed independently of the web GIS. The web GIS will offer common functionality such as zooming and panning. In addition, an external WMS can be loaded into the web GIS.
