Google Summer of Code at 52°North
Google Summer of Code, informally called GSoC, is a program that offers student developers stipends to write code for open source projects. 52°North participates in the program as a mentoring organization. We pair the students with mentors and embed their work in the context of ongoing research projects. Hence, GSoC students gain valuable exposure to real-world software development scenarios and have the opportunity to work in areas related to their academic pursuits. In turn, we are able to improve our
software projects, as well as identify and draw in new developers more easily.
